Customer service entails providing good, accurate and thorough knowledge to customers. The perception you leave with a customer will ultimately determine whether or not they will continue doing business with you or your company, so you want to leave a good impression. Learning customer service and leaving a good impression doesn't have to be difficult as long as you have the necessary desire and tools.

    How to Learn Customer Service

  1. Step 1

Apply for local entry level telemarketing jobs that require little to no experience. If you get the job, the company has a training period where they will teach you customer service skills. You can search the classifieds for telemarketing jobs. Telemarketing firms are almost always hiring.

  2. Step 2

Take customer service courses. Manyl universities provide call center management courses, which include classes on customer service skills. You can also take online customer service courses from universities such as the University of Phoenix.

  3. Step 3

Read customer service books such as "Going Above and Beyond: Reach the Pinnacle of Customer Service by Learning How to Think and Act Like a Concierge", by Katharine Giovanni to learn more information about customer service.

  4. Step 4

Practice the customer service skills on your friends and family. Make up situations where you will have to provide customer service to them. Have them call you with customer service questions so that you can practice the appropriate answers. The more you practice your customer service skills, the better they will become.
