How to Troubleshoot Creative Zen V Plus

The Creative Zen V Plus is a type of digital music player that comes in 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB versions. Features of this MP3 player include FM radio connectivity, voice recording, video playback and compatibility with MP3, WAV and WMA music files. If you have an issue with your Creative Zen V Plus, you can do some troubleshooting on your own without having to call technical support right away.

Instructions

1. Install the software included with the Creative Zen V Plus. Many problems with the MP3 player can be resolved by installing or updating the software included with the device. Use the CD that came with the player to make the install, or log on the Creative Zen V Plus product page on the company website to download the latest firmware (see Resources).

2. Make sure your PC is powered on if you are attempting to charge the Creative Zen V Plus. The digital player charges through connection to a PC via a USB port. If your computer is in power saver mode or turned off, it will not charge.

3. Convert the videos before you transfer them onto your Creative Zen V Plus. Video files must be converted prior to playing them on the device. Open Creative Media Explorer and select the video files from your computer. Select the "Convert" option and then connect the player via a USB cable.

4. Use the Creative MediaSource Organizer application for more advanced features. Creative Media Explorer is used for basic conversion and file transfer tasks, but you will need to use Creative MediaSource Organizer if you need assistance recording audio and generating automatic playlists.

5. Select "AutoScan" if you are having difficulty locating FM stations on the Creative Zen V Plus. To access "AutoScan," choose the option from the "FM Radio" tab found on the main menu.
