A cooktop from General Electric's exclusive Monogram line requires regular cleaning to keep your unit working properly. GE recommends using only Cerama Bryte Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner to remove stains and cooked-on food residue; however, you may choose to use a different ceramic cooktop cleaner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cerama Bryte or a ceramic cooktop cleaner of your choice
  • Paper towel or Cerama Bryte Cleaning Pad
  • Dry cloth
  • Single-edged razor blade (optional)
  1. Step 1

Turn off all burners and make sure the cooktop surface is cool to the touch.

  2. Step 2

Vigorously shake the bottle of Cerama Bryte or other cooktop cleaner to mix any settled cleanser, and add a few drops of it to the cooktop surface.

  3. Step 3

With a Cerama Bryte Cleaning Pad or a dry paper towel, gently rub the cleaning solution over the cooktop surface, using pressure where needed, to remove any cooking residue.

  4. Step 4

For stubborn areas, repeat Steps 2 and 3.

  5. Step 5

For heavily burned-on food residue, hold the razor blade at a 45-degree angle and carefully scrape away the affected area, then repeat Steps 2 and 3.

  6. Step 6

Using a dry cloth, wipe off the remainder of the cleaner. You do not need to use water or rinsing solution.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use abrasive scrubbing tools on any part of the cooktop. Do not heat the cooktop until you complete the cleaning process. For extra protection, after you finish the cleaning process, use Cerama Bryte or other ceramic cooktop cleaner and a paper towel to polish the entire cooktop surface.
