Making a Girls Hair Bow
-
1
Mark your ribbon with sewing pins every 6 inches. Thread the pins through the ribbon vertically.
-
2
Place a dab of hot glue at the first pin. While still hot, press the next pin into the glue using a craft stick. This forms a loop. Do not twist the ribbon so your loop will remain smooth.

3
Add another dab of hot glue and press the next pin into the glue. Angle the ribbon so it is offset from the first loop. Repeat this step 2 more times. You should have a total of 4 loops.

Once glue is dry, remove all sewing pins from the ribbon. Glue the bow to the closed end of a snap clip barrette.
-
5
Trim the ends of the ribbon. Cut a V in both ends or cut the ends diagonally to finish your hair bow.

Tips & Warnings
Use different width ribbons to get different designs. Beads can be threaded onto the ends of thin ribbons. Peel or cut off excess glue once the hair bow is finished.
Do not poke yourself with the sewing pins. Marks on the ribbon can be made with a pen or pencil if you do not want to work with sewing pins. Do not burn yourself on the glue or glue gun. Always have a layer of fabric between you and the hot glue. Sometimes the glue will soak through the fabric, so use something besides you finger to apply pressure.
