How to Open a Swf File

Open a SWF file on your computer by using this step by step guide. This article will explain to you what a swf file is and how you can open the swf file on your computer quickly and easily!

      SWF stands for Shockwave Flash (or later to be known as small wave format). Swf files are generated typically with adobe flash. Flash used to be owned by Macromedia, which later was adapted and bought by Adobe.

      Next, go straight to the source of swf files. Try using an Adobe program to open swf files. One popular program that creates and opens swf files - Adobe Flash Player (see resources below).

      If you can't use an adobe program to open swf files, consider looking at some third party alternatives. One popular swf file is SWFOpener (see resources below for download). Most of the time third party tools should be free or offer a trial version for you to try and test their swf file capabilities!
