How to Get a Cataclysm Expansion Beta Key

First let me start off by saying that getting a beta key for Cataclysm is not an easy task. However, I will go over all the things you could do to increase your chances of getting selected.

1. Don't fall for fake beta invites. Until Blizzard officially announces that beta for the World of Warcraft Cataclysm expansion has begun I would not trust any email telling you otherwise. Keyloggers and hackers like to send out the fake invites to get your WoW account information.

2. Make sure you have a World of Warcraft account up and running. They will randomly send out Cataclysm beta invitations to WoW players. So if you don't have an active subscription you will not get invited.

3. Join a top end guild. Blizzard likes to invite entire guilds that they know can down the content and report back to them in a quick and efficient fashion. So if you are a member of a hard core raiding guide your chances of getting a Cataclysm beta key are much better.

4. Get in good with a Blizzard employee. This may not be realistic for many people, but I have a pretty good feeling that the majority of expansion beta invites go to family and friends of Blizzard employees before they go to anyone else.
