How to Erase the Memory Card on Your Verizon Phone

Sometimes you need to clear out a memory card, in case you want to sell it or if you just want to erase it on order to start all over. These are very simple steps that will tell you how to erase or "format" your phone's memory card, all at once. although it pertains specifically to Verizon phones, these steps may similarly for other cell phone carriers.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Verizon phone with memory card
  1. Step 1

    Your memory card must be inserted into your phone's memory card slot in order to proceed.
    Go to MENU from the main screen of your phone.

  2. Step 2

    Go to SETTINGS & TOOLS.

  3. Step 3

    Go down to MEMORY, and select.
    Your screen should now show options to: Save Options, Phone Memory, and Card Memory.

  4. Step 4

    Go down to CARD MEMORY, select.
    Once you are in the CARD MEMORY menu, Select the button under the word OPTIONS.
    The option to FORMAT CARD should pop up. This is the option that allows you to erase the card.

  5. Step 5

    It will ask you for security code (which by default is the last 4-digits of your phone #). Enter and hit OK.

  6. Step 6

    Phone proceed to erase your phone's memory card.
    Once the process is completed, all pictures, music, sounds, etc. that were saved the your memory card in your phone's memory card slot will be deleted.

on 8/23/2009 omg, I have to do this before I get rid of my phone! too bad they don't use SIM cards...so much easier LOL
