There are many things everyone should know about the software program they are intending to buy. We all get excited when it comes to purchasing new software.
There are many things to consider when purchasing new software that may not be obvious in the beginning. You need to consider who the users will be, if this purchase will be for your home or for your office. Always research any new software and only buy from trusted companies.

   Is this new software compatible with other software you have or will you need to buy other programs in order to run this one? What versions of Windows does it use?

   How easy is the program to install or uninstall? What will happen if the installation stops before finishing? Can you just restart the installation or do you need to uninstall and start over?

   How will you purchase the software? Is it free software? Is it Freeware software? Will you purchase it on a CD or download software from the internet? If you download software from the internet, what type of protection does the web site give incase the download fail?

   How much training is needed? Is it user friendly? How do you get help? Are there books, user groups or forums, or user guides? Are there free events and seminars, or on demand? This is a huge area that can cause the user to be frustrated. If you purchased a boxed software, once the sealed software package has been opened, it cannot be returned to the store except for a replacement of the same software.
