LIving with friends can be a blast, but having a roommate that you don't get along with can really put a damper on your fun. Follow these simple steps to get along with your roommate.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Clean up after yourself.

No one likes a total slob! Try to at least match your roommate's level of cleanliness. That way, you can avoid irritating them with your mess.

  2. Step 2

    Be considerate.

When it comes to noise, parties, study time, bringing dates into your shared living space, etc, always be considerate of your roommate. It helps to set clear expectations upfront about what you expect from one another so that no one ends up frustrated.

  3. Step 3

    Don't be pushy.

Whether you are a huge sports fan, devoutly religious, love all-nighters, or the smell of vanilla; don't push those things on your roommate. You are likely going to be two very different people. Embrace that and you'll probably get along fine with your roommate.

  4. Step 4

    Respect your roommate's space.

You know those days where you just don't feel like talking? Allow them the space they deserve by giving them room to breath. Also, don't go rummaging through their things and stay out of their rooms unless they are in there too.
