Things You'll Need:
- Gmail email account
- An ability to apply your keyword(s)in various contexts
-
Step 1
First. You will need to determine what you want to name your blog. Remember that utilizing proper keywords is essential to SEO and the SERPs. For example, if your interest is fishing, hunting, or soccer, it is essential that you utilize that keyword in your title, the URL, and in the description. However, in some cases it is necessary to create a string or tail keyword phrase which includes your primary keyword to help your site on its way.
For the purpose of this article I have created a blogger blog entitled "Scott's Expert Roofing Services", focusing on the primary keyword "roofing". -
Step 2
Blogger Title and URLAs the illustration provides, I have utilized "Scott's Expert Roofing Services" in the title, and "Scotts expert roofing" for the URL. The association of both "Scotts expert roofing services" and "Scotts expert roofing" maintains the keyword "roofing", while also utilizing the tail "expert roofing" as well.
Once you complete your title and URL complete the captcha and click continue to choose your template. (NOTE: For the sake of relevance of this article I will not dabble with templates as this is generally a personal preference which has little bearing on SEO or the SERPs.)
Once you choose your template your will be directed to make a post to your blog. But don't you realize that something is missing? Yes! The blog description. Before you make a post and publish your blog be sure to create a blog description as illustrated below. -
Step 3
Settings tab will enable you to create or edit your blog descriptionAgain, before you make a post and publish your blog, click on the "Settings" tab where you will be directed to the page where you can create a description of your blog.
Creating a description that utilizes your keyword(s) and tails is tantamount to SEO and ranking in the SERPs. -
Step 4
BloggerWhen the "Settings" page opens you will notice that the description text box is empty. For whatever reason, blogger's protocol requires specific editing of the blog settings to create your blog description. However, once a person learns this and applies proper keyword and tail strategy through Title, URL, and description application they will be well on their way to successful ranking in the SERP's
-
Step 5
Give you blog a keyword rich description and don't be afraid to babble a little bit.
As the illustration shows I have utilized all 3 keyword strings with the primary keyword "roofing" included in all of them.
Once you complete your blog description, save you changes at the bottom of the page and continue on to create and publish your first post.
