How to apply for food stamps online in Illinois

Food stamps are available to help assist low-income families buy food they need for good health. If you live in the state of Illinois and will like to see if you are eligible to receive benefits you can do so online.

   Go to, http://fspp.dhs.state.il.us/register

2.

   Click on "INFO ABOUT APPLYING ONLINE" this will take you to a new application. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "START MY APPLICATION".
   
   Next, enter an email if you have one, this step is optional.
   
   Enter a password, this will be needed for returning to your application. Then re-type the same password in the next space.
   
   Click the "blue" down arrow on the first box. A box will drop down where you will be able to select a secret question. Once this is done type in the next box below, this box is where you will type your answer to the secret question.
   (The secret question and answer is for you in case you forgot your password).
   
   Next, click "CREATE NEW APPLICATION".

   You will be given "your household ID and password", print or write down this information. You will need this important information if returning to your application in the future.
   
   Click, "LOG ON AND START MY APPLICATION".

   On the next page, enter the household ID and the password that you wrote down earlier.
   
   Click "SIGN IN"
   
   Click "NEXT"
   
   Enter if you are applying for someone else, then click "NEXT".

   Now enter all the information needed, ie: name, address, etc.
   
   Next, enter information pertaining to everyone who lives in your household.
   
   Next, enter information on how much money if any, your household receives from work, child support, etc.
   
   Next, enter all information on your expenses.
   
   Next, enter health insurance policies you may have, and the amount you pay on the policies.
   
   Next, review all of your information, then acknowledge your rights and responsibilities.
   
   Click, "SUBMIT"
