How to Protect Pets From Rat and Mouse Repellents
Rat and mouse repellents are harmful to pets and domestic animals. Rodents are scavengers, and most people use rodent attractant food for it's effectiveness in getting rid of the pests. In using this poison, though, it is very important that we protect our pets and domestic animals from ingesting this poison.

1
Place the bait in locations out of the reach of pets. Pets like to explore and they use their nose and mouth to do this. Remember that dogs and cats can jump on countertops and tables.
-
2
Use pet resistant stations -- stations that can resist assaults by dogs or cats.
-
-
3
Resist the urge to place poison in areas where pet food can be contaminated or on surfaces that come in direct contact with pet food.
-
4
Educate yourself on the symptoms of ingesting poison and what the circumstances are, such as in some cases death, and what to do in case of an emergency.
-
5
Follow the instructions carefully when using any toxic product or rodenticide. Wear gloves and don't use the product around pets. If you spill any, clean it up immediately.
