1
Fold the length of nylon cording in half and hold the cording by the loop you just created.
-
2
Pass the loop through the center of the split ring and fold it down toward the two lengths of cording. Hold the split ring and the cording so that the cording is folded over the split ring and the loop and ends of the cording are coming down from the bottom of the split ring. Adjust the loop so that it approximately 1 inch longer than the desired finished length of the key chain.

-
3
Spread each length of cording to either side of the center loop.
-
4
Take the left cord and make a backward P-shaped loop to the left side and then another P-shaped loop on the right side.
-
5
Grasp the right cord and insert it down into the loop on the right side first, around the back and then up through the loop on the left side. Adjust the cords and pull them tight.
-
6
Take the right cord and make a P-shaped loop on the right side and then a backward P-shaped loop on the left side (just the opposite of Step 4).
-
7
Grasp the left cord and insert it down into the loop on the left side first, around the back and then up through the loop on the right side. Adjust the cords and pull them tight.
-
8
Repeat Steps 4 through 7 to make a key chain in the desired length.
-
9
Trim the two cording ends when finished tying and allow the loop to be the end of the key chain. Pass a flame quickly over the raw edges of the cording to prevent fraying.
