Instructions

    • 1

Place the bench frame at the desired level and mark the places where the mounting holes hit the tile.

    • 2

Drill holes into the marked areas. Then insert the fastener sleeves and use a screwdriver to insert the screws into the holes.

    • 3

Remove the screws, squirt a bit of adhesive caulk into each hole and reinsert the screws. This will secure the bench in place.

    • 4

Caulk the top edge of the bench frame on the tile side.

    • 5

Fill the bench frame with mortar. To allow the water to drain off the seat, build up the part of the bench nearest to the corner very slightly, sloping downward until the front of the bench is flush with the front of the frame. Pack the mortar tightly and flatten with a trowel.

    • 6

Cut tiles to fit the shape of the bench and press them into the mortar. Make sure to tile the front and bottom of the bench as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save some of the materials while tiling your shower. You may want to install a bench or other accessory in your shower later.

  • Various shower benches require slightly different installation methods, so check the instructions for details specific to your shower bench.
