- Printing paper

- 3/4-inch-wide satin ribbon

Step 1
Decide on the wording of the invitation. You can use the traditional wording that includes the parents' names and the names of the bride and groom, or use a more modern wording that includes only the names of the bride and groom.
Include the date of the wedding, the time, the location of the ceremony, and the city and state. Enter the invitation wording into a word processing program, and save it as the wedding invitation. -
Step 2
Print two invitation wordings onto each piece of printing paper landscape-style. Cut the invitation layer into 4.5-by-8.5-inch sheets of paper

Step 3
Cut the vellum layer into 4.5-by-7.5-inch sheets. Cut the handmade paper layer into 5.5-by-8.5-inch sheets.

Step 4
Punch two holes in the top of each of the three layers using a standard hole punch. The holes of all three layers must line up perfectly. Place the holes 1 inch from the top of the vellum layer and the printed paper layer and 1.5 inches from the top of the handmade paper layer. Center the holes between the two side edges and have 2/3 inch between the holes.

Step 5
Cut the satin ribbon into 6-inch lengths. You will use one length of ribbon for each invitation.

Place the handmade paper layer on the bottom. Place the printed invitation layer on top of the handmade paper. Place the vellum paper layer on top. Align the three layers of paper together so that the holes are perfectly lined up.

Step 7
Push both ends of the piece of ribbon through the holes from the top through to the underside of the papers. Adjust the ribbon so that the ribbon lengths are even on the underside of the papers.

Step 8
Cross the ends of the ribbon on the underside of the papers, and push each of them up through the other hole. Adjust the tightness of the ribbon, and trim the ends off at an angle making them even. This will attach all three layers of paper, and the ribbon will resemble a stylish bow at the top of the papers.
