How to Shut Off GMC Sonoma Headlamps
The GMC Sonoma was a popular small-truck built by General Motors and sold from 1982 through 2005, when it was replaced by the GMC Canyon. The Sonoma has a traditional on/off headlamp system that uses halogen lighting. Leaving the lights on in your truck can drain your battery and harm your alternator, so it's important to know how to shut them off properly.

Tips & Warnings
The GMC Sonoma is an identical vehicle to the Chevrolet S-10. These instructions will also work for the Chevrolet S-10.
The GMC Sonoma is not equipped with daytime running lights. After turning the switch off, the headlamps should not be illuminated. If they are, you may have a faulty switch or a wiring problem. Bring the Sonoma to a service center immediately to avoid draining your charging system.
