Scene Hair, Teased

The Scene hairstyle or "EMO" hairstyle is a highly popular hairstyle among teenagers now. This hairstyle is nice when left alone but at it's best when teased. Teasing is nothing but using a comb to knot the hair and make it stand up or puff the hair. It looks difficult but actually very, very easy. You can do it with virtually any hairstyle; not just the Scene hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A comb
  • A brush
  • Hairspray (TRESemme preferably)
  • Flat Iron (Straightener)
  • Blow dryer (optional)
  1. Step 1

You should always take a shower before doing your hair. After you (and your hair) are squeaky clean get out your blow dryer. If you don't have one or do not use one then let it air dry.

  2. Step 2
    pin straight hair
    pin straight hair

When your hair is nice and dry, turn on your flat iron (straightener) and turn the temperature up as high as it goes (if you have that option) and let it heat up. Meanwhile, make sure your hair is free of knots. When your straightener is heated, take one chuck of hair (not too big) at a time and make it as straight as it can get. Continue this until your hair is pin straight.

  3. Step 3

At this point, your hair is ready to tease! Take your comb in one hand and a piece of hair (as big of a chunk as in step 2) and hold the piece of hair up high and firmly. Brush the roots of the piece; sort of "picking". Depending on how much you do this, your hair will somewhat stand up. spray the piece of hair with hairspray then lay it down as flat as you want. Do this to the rest of your hair. You can do it anyway you want; If you want it sticking out like spikes or just puffy, it will look great!

Tips & Warnings
  • This hairstyle looks the best with colorful streaks. You can buy clip in ones if you don't want to ruin your hair with chemicals.
  • If you do straighten your bangs and they get messed up, spray the comb with hairspray. Then brush your bangs with the comb however you want your bangs to be.
  • If you have bangs which go over to the side, DO NOT STRAIGHTEN THEM!!! DO NOT!!! Doing so will make them harder to push to the side.
