Step 1
*Determine Whether or Not You Qualify to Apply for a McDonald's Scholarship
The McDonald's USA National Employee Scholarship Program selects 51 students to receive $1000 scholarships each. One student is chosen from each state and the District of Columbia. Those who apply and win must be currently employed by McDonald's. They also need to have been employed by McDonald's for four continuous months prior to the date of application. All applicants must work 15 hours a week at a U.S. McDonalds. They also should be high school seniors at the time of application who are seeking a degree or training at a qualified, accredited institution. (The scholarships also work for continuing education; check details at time of application.) Scholarship winners are allowed to receive education in any field of study they choose. -
Step 2
*Learn how Scholarship Winners are Selected to Plan your Application
Scholarship winners are chosen based on their community service achievements, academic performance, and job performance.
Also, a special award is given to one of the 51 recipients called "McScholar of the Year". Judges choose one recipient each year who demonstrates exceptional service, employment, and academics to receive a $5000 scholarship. -
Step 3
*Apply for a McDonald's Scholarship
The McDonald's Scholarship applications open in January of each year. Competition is fierce, so apply early.
McDonald's Employees are allowed special access to a website where they can apply for scholarship money. Once you're employed by McDonald's, you too may be eligible to apply. Good luck!
