Making delicious, tender, juicy oven-roasted pork chops with a crispy crunchy coating is quick and easy.

The natural sweetness of the corn flake crumbs is a delicious compliment to the light flavor of the pork and provides a pleasing crunchy texture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pork chops
  • Kellogg's Corn Flake Crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • A glass baking dish
  • A small bowl
  • A fork
  • A plate
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • An oven
  • An instant read meat thermometer
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (176.67 degrees Celsius). Spray the glass baking dish with the non stick cooking spray. Crack the egg into the small bowl and beat lightly with the fork. Pour some of the corn flake crumbs onto the plate.

  2. Step 2

Dredge a pork chop in the beaten egg, coating all sides, then press the pork chop into the corn flake crumbs, turning as necessary to completely coat the pork chop. For crunchier chops, repeat this step again. Place the chop in the baking dish, and continue with next chop until all are completely coated.

  3. Step 3

Bake the pork chops uncovered on the center rack for approximately 45-60 minutes or until done through, the juices run clear, and the thickest part of the center of the thickest chop registers 170 degrees (76.67 degrees Celsius) on the instant-read meat thermometer.

    Remove from oven and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Delicious with ketchup, Dijon mustard, or just plain.
  • Serve with a side of sweet corn, macaroni and cheese, or mashed potatoes.
  • Excellent for cold sandwiches the next day.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends cooking pork until the juices run clear or to an internal temperature of 170 degrees (76.67 degrees Celsius)(Cite: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/trichinosis/2004_Trichinellosis_FS.pdf)
