Musical greeting cards are all the rage. Adding a little something extra to a card is fun and makes the greeting a little more personalised. However, they can become very expensive to purchase. Here are some instructions for making your own personalized greeting cards.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • multi colored or patterned card stock paper
  • envelope
  • scissors
  • markers, colored pencils, or crayons
  • glue
  • musical insert
  • scrap booking stickers and appliqués
  1. Step 1

Choose your card stock paper you want to use for your card. Fold one in half, edge to edge. Fold another piece in half as well and cut in half. This will go inside your card to cover the musical insert.

  2. Step 2

Decorate your card using the crayons, markers, colored pencils you have gathered. As well as any stickers or charms that you have that you want to attach. Decorate the card stock that you cut as well and write any messages on it now, before you attach it to the inside of the card.

Remove the insert from the package and carefully attach to the inside of your card. Make sure it is centered before permanently attaching it.

  4. Step 4

With the card stock paper that you have cut, turn over and add a thin amount of glue to the back around the edges. Not too much, because you don't want the glue to get on the musical insert. Carefully attach to the inside of your card over the musical insert.

  5. Step 5

Let the glue dry and your card is now ready for the envelope.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to do all decorating and messages before adding the musical insert. Otherwise your card will be bumpy and harder to decorate. Also, you do not want to damage the insert.
  • Cut the card stock that will be covering the insert slightly smaller on the edge that will be against the crease of the card, so that it fits and is not getting folded.
  • Once you have added the insert and covered it with the card stock paper, you will not be able to add any more decorations to that part of the card. Make sure you have written all messages and added any decorations before attaching the insert and covering it.
