Things You'll Need:
- Spray Bottle
- Soda Can
- Dog treats
- Coins
- Puppy
-
Step 1
First, fill an empty soda can up with loose coins such as pennies and dimes. Every time your puppy barks shake the soda can in front of their face. This will startle your puppy and they will know that this is not OK
-
Step 2
Chances are your puppy will still continue to bark. Try spraying them in the face with a spray bottle filled with cold water and sternly say "No!" The tone in your voice and the unpleasant water in the eyes will let the puppy know that you are not happy with them.
-
Step 3
When your puppy barks, hold their nose and sternly tell them "No!" After a few attempts of this your puppy will get the idea that this is not acceptable behavior and barking is not OK
-
Step 4
If your puppy stops barking when you tell them "NO", reward them with a small dog treat to let them know that they are being well behaved. They will eventually learn the difference between good and bad behavior.
