Dress Pants on Hanger

Hanging dress pants properly is a great way to save yourself time ironing and preparing your outfit. By properly hanging dress pants you can keep creases fresh and they will last much longer!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Pant Legs

    Pant Legs

To properly hang dress pants, the first thing you need to do after you take off your pants or prepare to hang them, is grab the foot of each pant leg. Avoid laying the pants on things like beds, chairs, sofa's etc. This will keep the pants clean and lint/dust free.

  2. Step 2

Now take the pant legs and smooth them out having the fold on each end be the ironed crease that exists in the pant leg. The pants should hang smooth and unwrinkled in this condition.

  3. Step 3

Next, take the part you are holding and feed it through the hanger in which you want to hang your pants.

  4. Step 4

Position the hanger just past halfway on the pants so that the leg portion hangs lower than the waist end of your pants. This will keep the pants from falling off of the hanger in your closet since the waist area has more material and weighs more than the legs.

  5. Step 5

Smooth out the pants along the hanger bar so that no wrinkles exist. This will help keep the pants more wrinkle free and your closet looking that much better!

  6. Step 6

Now hang the pants in the closet and you are done!
