How to Make Caramel S'mores

S'mores, they're the delight of campfire enthusiasts and children of all ages. The basics, made with graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows can be instantly transformed with other delectable ingredients. Although s'mores are traditionally made over an open fire, they can also be melted in various creative ways. Read on for a new take on the old favorite......with a twist.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chocolate graham crackers
  • Caramel swirl marshmallows
  • Dark, or milk chocolate bar
  • Peanut butter (creamy)
  1. Step 1

    Snap a graham cracker in half. Spread peanut butter on one half. Chocolate graham crackers with sugared tops are used in this recipe, but the original cracker is fine too.

  2. Step 2

    Break a 3 part section of chocolate bar and place on top of peanut butter

  3. Step 3
    caramel marshmallow

    Slightly flatten a caramel marshmallow and put on top of the chocolate.

  4. Step 4
    add a rock

    Set the plate outside in direct sunlight on a hot day and place a large smooth stone on the top graham cracker. Press down gently. Using a stone that has been setting in the sun to absorb heat will melt the s'mores faster.

  5. Step 5

    When softened, squish s'mores together and eat outside preferably as it will be messy !

Tips & Warnings
  • For firmer chocolate, melt the marshmallow in the sun on one side of the cracker first before adding the other half with chocolate and peanut butter.
  • Use other creative methods to melt s'mores ingredients as an experiment with children.
