How to properly mount a rifle scope.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • gun vise or something to secure your firearm.
  • Level small
  • it also helps to have a laser bore sighter
  1. Step 1

Before starting make sure your rifle is unloaded and safety on. Secure your rifle a padded vise works best. Now attach the scope mounting system base to your rifle securely.

  2. Step 2

Level the mounting base horizontally to your rifle bore and lock it in place, fasten the scope rings making sure the scope will lay without moving. Check the scope an adjust to make sure there's no wobble in the crosshairs.

  3. Step 3

Before going further be sure your rifle is still level, then set the rifle scope in the scope rings. Check for level again. DO NOT USE WINDAGE SCREWS, this is important. Using a laser bore sighter, align the scope crosshairs with the laser bore sighter or you can remove the bolt from your rifle and look through to center the scope. Now make sure all screws are tight and your ready for the range.
