I will tell you how to completely remove mineral deposits/hard water stains from your shower head. Very simple.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • bottle of white vinegar
  • plastic bowl
  • Duct tape
  • old toothbrush
  • safety pin
  1. Step 1

Always see those orange looking stains on your shower head? Seems like you have tried everything to remove those nasty water deposits and nothing is working? Good news! You can completely remove hard water stains from your shower head in about an hour. First thing to do is figure out where you will place your shower head to remove the hard water stains.

  2. Step 2
    Heinz White Vinegar
    Heinz White Vinegar

If you have a shower head on a hose, pour vinegar into the container you choose such as a plastic bowl but make sure you have one deep enough to fully immerse the shower head. Sit it in a spot where it is not likely to get bumped. Fill bowl with vinegar and immerse the shower head into the vinegar or you can put the shower head in the bowl before filling bowl with vinegar.

  3. Step 3
    Duct Tape
    Duct Tape

Secure your bowl to the shower head with duct tape if you cannot remove it from the shower wall. Then pour the vinegar into container making sure the shower head is fully immersed.

  4. Step 4

Wait one hour to remove shower head. You will see particles breaking off within minutes of immersing the shower head. I have done this twice already with the Waterpik Massager and it did not remove any markings such as the water settings. I had tried everything on the market for this and plain white vinegar is the only thing that removed the stains. Go figure...it was the cheapest also!

  5. Step 5
    Toothbrush
    Toothbrush

Use an old toothbrush for nudging some pieces that may still linger. Do not panic! This is just some pieces that did not yet come off. You barely have to brush the shower head and the leftover pieces will
fall right off. For some holes that may still have some pieces left just stick a safety pin in and that nasty stuff will come right out.

  6. Step 6

Rinse off with clear water and enjoy your clean shower head.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do this every 3 months.
  • Soak the little sink hose nozzle in white vinegar also.
  • Do not get shocked when you see how much better this works when you have been trying expensive supplies.
  • Make sure pets do not get to the vinegar. Drinking vinegar is likely to make your pet sick.
