Most of us women know the pains of shaving our legs only to have the razor cut through the skin. Instead of beautiful smooth legs, you now have bleeding wounded legs. However, there is a way to shave and not cut those precious legs with your razor. If you shave carefully, the end result can be quite pleasing and you'll find that shaving wasn't so hard after all.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Razor
  • Shaving cream
  • Water
  1. Step 1

When you get in the tub to have a bath or shower, stay under the warm water for a bit in order to soften your leg hair so that you can shave your legs smoothly. You can use this time to start washing yourself with soap. I also suggest waiting until you've done everything else that you need to do in the shower or bath before you start shaving. This will give your stubborn leg hair ample time to soften up.

  2. Step 2

When you're ready to shave your legs, prop up a leg to make shaving easier. Squeeze some of that shaving cream on your hands and gently rub the shaving cream from your hands onto your thigh. Your upper leg is the least likely to be accidentally cut by a razor, so we'll shave this area first.

  3. Step 3

To shave your legs smoothly, wet the razor a little and touch the blade to the bottom of your thigh. Slowly move the razor blade upward in even strokes until your whole thigh is shaved. It's a good idea to wet your razor each time you make an upward stroke to get rid of hair that might clog the blade. Move on to the other thigh and shave that as well. Remember that at this point, we're only focusing on your thighs and not your knees or below your knees.

  4. Step 4

Go ahead and put a decent amount of shaving cream on your lower legs to soften the hair in order to shave your legs smoothly. If you're afraid that your lower leg hair isn't soft enough, touch your razor blade to the top of your lower leg and shave downward in slow even strokes, wetting the razor after each stroke. Put some more shaving cream on your lower leg and this time shave upward slowly from the ankles. Usually the skin on your lower legs is more sensitive than the skin on your thighs, but if you feel as though your lower leg hair is soft enough to shave upward from the ankles immediately after shaving your thighs, go ahead. Be careful though and don't shave too hastily.

  5. Step 5

Now it's time to work on your knees. Apply some shaving cream and bend your knee a bit. Shave upward with your razor, again wetting the blade after each stroke. Continue on to your other knee. Don't forget to shave under your knees as well. Once your done shaving your legs, rinse that shaving cream off, get out of the shower, and pat your legs with a clean towel. You can also moisturize your legs if they feel dry. Enjoy those gorgeous legs!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be patient while shaving your legs. If you rush through the shaving process, you'll notice several cuts when you're done shaving.
