Things You'll Need:
- 12 mushrooms
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Garlic (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
Step 1
Wipe the mushrooms off with a moist towel. Remove stems and cut off any hard ends. Cut stems into small pieces.
-
Step 2
On medium stove top heat, pour in 1 tablespooon of vegetable oil, add chopped up mushroom stems. Add garlic. You can use minced garlic or garlic salt, depending on your liking to garlic. I typically use about 2 teaspoons of garlic salt.
-
Step 3
Heat through until no liquid shows. Remove from heat and cool. Set your cream cheese out to soften for approximately 15 minutes.
-
Step 4
Mix pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, parmesan cheese and cream cheese in with your stems once they have cooled. For this type of mixtur, it's best to use your hands to combine everything together. A spoon just won't do with it comes to mixing the cream cheese! Spoon mixture into mushroom caps. Do not grease your cooking sheet! Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
