How to Make a Purse From a Pair of Jeans

Are you looking for a fun way to make a jean purse that is as individual as you are?
This is the easiest way to make it and it is so much FUN!

1. Select a pair of jeans. Kids ask mom first!
2. Cut the jeans at the legs to the size you want your purse to be.
3. Don't throw away the scraps... these will be your shoulder strraps!
4. Prepare the sewing machine. Ask for help if needed!
5. Turn the jeans inside out and sew the legs closed. Then add the straps to the top of the jeans (the waist area)
6. Turn the jean purse right side out and decorate with your items selected.
7. Please allow a few days for the decorations to dry before using the purse!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• jeans
• sewing machine
• thread
• decorating items such as buttons, flower shaped sponges, clothing paints,...
• scissors

1. Select a pair of jeans to cut for your new purse.
   Cut them off at the legs to the length you want your purse to be.

2. Turn the cut jeans inside out and sew the legs shut. Sew the left over strip, selected for your strap, on to the jean purse (at the waist part of thee jean purse) to the level you want your purse to hang.

3. Then turn the jean purse right side out and decorate.
   Use the items you selected such as buttons, clothing paints, flower shaped sponges ,... etc.

4. If you want to you can sew some Velcro to the top opening of your purse for a closure.
   Wait for the purse to dry after decorating before you use it.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also use a shirt to make a purse, just cut to size and sew up the waist and arms. Use excess for the purse straps.
• Please keep all sharp or small items out of reach of children.
