To install vinyl cove base is not as hard as it seems. Start with looking at the area you are going to cover. Is it even? If it is great. If it is not you will need to use some filler strips to make it even all the way across. That's where the hammer and nails or drill and screws come into play.

      Grooved spreader.

Measure the uneven area and cut wood strips to fill in the uneven surface. These can be any type of wood because they will never be seen. Attach them to the uneven area to make it smooth and even. Attach with your choice of nails or screws.

      Cove base.

Now measure the length of your area and cut your cove base to size. Use a square to keep everything even. Cut the cove base with your utility knife. Always make a dry run to make sure it fits as you would like. In other words lay it on the area without any glue to see how your measuring turned out. If ok proceed to next step.
