To deeply clean and restore your Marble Countertop or Marble Floor, make a paste from white flour and hydrogen peroxide. Be sure to apply the paste very thickly (about 1 inch). Use either a plastic or wooden spatula to apply the paste to the marble countertops or marble floor. Be sure to cover the entire marble surface to avoid uneven coloring. Place a large sheet of plastic over the entire area and secure with tape. Large plastic garbage bags or a plastic tarp works well. Let it sit for 2 days. Remove tape and plastic, use a spray bottle to wet down the flour mixture, use a plastic or wooden spatula to remove the mixture. Use a wet rag to rest the residue. Dry thoroughly with a soft clean cloth.

To remove grease or oil stains from marble, in a glass jar make a paste of 5 ounces cereal flour, 7 ounces hydrochloric acid, 2 ounces chloride of lime and 1 teaspoon of turpentine. Put the paste on the stain and let it sit overnight. In the morning remove the paste with a soft cloth, wipe with a damp rag, dry thoroughly. Apply marble polish. This is a toxic mixture, wear gloves, eye protection, work in a well ventilated area and wear a mask. Keep away from children and pets.
