If you're here, you probably know that Eudora does not have a simple "Export" command for their address book. What to do? In this How-To, learn how to export an address book from Eudora to another e-mail client using the .CSV file format.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View > select the "View hidden files and folders" radio button. Untick the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types" as well.

  2. Step 2

Go to Search and type the following into the search bar: nndbase.txt - make sure it matches exactly. When the file appears, right click it copy it and then paste it in a different location - preferably the desktop. Double click on the text file to open it.

  3. Step 3

You will notice what looks to be code mingled with your address book contacts. Delete the code leaving just the e-mail address data separated by commas. Save this file with whatever name you want, just make sure to save it as .CSV for importing purposes.

  4. Step 4

Import the file you just created using the import feature of the mail client you are using.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are unable to locate the nndbase.txt file, there is a high probability that the file is corrupt or nonexistent. In this case, you may have to manually copy and past addresses from Eudora to your other mail client.
