How to Become a Real Estate Broker Online
A real estate broker is the manager of a real estate company. A broker makes sure that all state licenses are up to date, carries insurance for all agents in the company, manages resources and hires staff. A broker is also responsible for establishing the company's rules and regulations. For all her work, a broker reaps the rewards of sharing in the commissions of all agents in the company. Getting a broker's license isn't terribly complicated, and it can be done online.

1
Check with the state licensing agency to see whether you have adequate experience in real estate sales prior to applying for a broker's license. The rules vary by state. Texas, for example, requires a minimum of two years of real estate sales experience before applying for a broker's license.
-
2
Inquire about educational requirements. These are much more involved for a broker's license than for a real estate sales license. Many areas require that a real estate broker have completed more than 300 hours of education in the real estate industry, including education about running and managing a brokerage.

Select a state-licensed online training agency. (See the Resources for a few options.) Most online training agencies will offer package pricing to take the guesswork out of course selection.
-
4
Register for courses online. At this point, you will be prompted to pay and will be able to download all applicable materials and coursework. Many agencies offer video instruction and slide-show presentations as part of their training.

5
Complete your training, submit your education documents to your state licensing agency and schedule your broker exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be eligible to receive a broker's license from your state.
