How to Hydrate Dry Skin Easily
Dry skin may cause uncomfortable itching and could be symptomatic of a skin-related medical problem. However, high temperatures, low humidity, bodily dehydration and harsh fabrics or soaps will have a negative effect on your skin's moisture levels. 2
Eat foods that contain anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidant rich foods include tomatoes, nuts, beans and green leafy vegetables. Consider reducing red meat intake in favor of fish.

3
Replace your existing soaps or body wash products in favor of mild alternatives, specifically designed for moisturizing skin. Avoid using harsh soaps that dry the skin.
-
4
Avoid taking hot showers or baths lasting longer than 15-minutes, and reduce the water temperature you usually use.
-

Apply moisturizing lotion or baby oil immediately after bathing or showering. Baby oil and moisturizing lotion will provide a suitable barrier, designed to retain skin moisture. Reapply the moisturizer several times a day, as needed.
