How to Use a Holux GPS

The Holux GPSmile is a satellite navigation device that helps you to easily find your way from one place to another. Not just a GPS device, the Holux GPSmile also functions as an image reader, eBook reader and MP3 player.

Instructions

1. Charge your Holux GPSmile Series device before using it for the first time. Turn on the device using the system power switch located on the back of the device. Insert the included USB adapter into your GPS unit, and plug the adapter into a power outlet. Hold down the "Power" button on the top of the device to turn it off while it charges. To charge the Holux GPSmile Series device in a vehicle, insert the small plug into the power jack on the back of the device and insert the other end of the plug into the cigarette lighter. When the device is fully charged, the indicator light on the front of the device will change from red to green.

2. Press and hold the "Power" button located at the top of the Holux GPSmile Series device for two seconds. This will power on the device for use.

3. Choose a function from the main menu screen. Besides GPS navigation, the Holux GPSmile offers exciting features like a digital-photo reader, eBook reader and MP3 player. To view photos on the device, insert an SD card with .jpeg or .bmp formatted photos into the SD slot of the device, select "Photo" from the main menu, and use the stylus and on-screen arrow buttons to navigate through your photos. To use the device as an eBook reader, insert an SD containing eBooks formatted in the .txt format into the SD slot. To play music on the device, insert an SD card containing MP3 files into the SD slot. For GPS navigation, select "GPS" from the main menu and continue to Step 4.

4. Use the stylus and on-screen keypad to enter the country, city and state of the address you would like to be navigated to. Touch "Okay" or "Next".

5. Enter the address number of the address you're navigating to using the stylus and on-screen keypad. When you have entered the address number, touch "Go" or "Begin".

Tips & Warnings

• SD cards can be purchased to add increased memory to Holux GPSmile Series devices.

• If your Holux GPSmile Series device experiences a severe lag or does not turn off by pressing and holding the power button, you may need to reset the device. This can be done by flipping the system power switch located on the back of the device.
