How to Dance Christian

As a Christian you should conduct yourself in a manner that exemplifies Christ. This does not mean you can't have fun. If you have been invited to a dance, whether it is a wedding reception, prom or other special event, rely on Christian dance etiquette to have a good time while maintaining your testimony before others.

Instructions

1. Keep the dance movements limited to your feet, arms, hands, shoulders and head. Avoid a lot of movement in the midsection, as it can appear suggestive or sexually explicit. No gyrating of the midsection is allowed. If you are going to move your midsection, move it from side to side, not front to back and not in a circular motion.

2. Do step dances that are neutral, such as the "Electric Slide" or the basic "Two Step." To make Christian dancing more fun, choreograph songs into group line dances.

3. Keep your hands above your partner's waistline when you are slow dancing. If you like, hold your partner's hand with one of your hands and place your other hand near her waist.

4. Allow some space between you and your partner to avoid sexual temptation. Do not grope your partner or allow your private parts to touch, as this will heighten physical awareness.

5. Loosen up and have fun. Jesus won't get mad at you for dancing. Just be sure that you don't misrepresent him.
