How to Charge an Electrical Scooter

The rechargeable batteries in an electric scooter are its heart and soul and the single most important factor impacting its performance. Proper charging of the batteries in your scooter is critical to get the most range possible in between charges and to get a long life from your batteries before they need replacing.

Instructions

1. Charge your scooter battery before it is at a capacity level of less than 50 percent. Repeatedly running your battery down to the last of its life will have detrimental effects on it.

2. Charge your scooter battery fully before using it. Undercharging and then using the battery with only a partial charge will cause battery failure.

3. Charge your scooter battery more frequently during cold temperatures. Fully charged batteries can resist freezing down to temperatures near -90 degrees Fahrenheit, while those with only a 40 percent charge may freeze at -16 degrees Fahrenheit.

4. Charge your battery fully before storing your scooter for long periods of time. Batteries fully charged can be stored for months with no ill effects, but those stored while in a discharged state may never regain full capacity.
