How to Repair Torn Rubber Hunting Boots
A misstep in the mud, and a resulting soggy foot, can spoil a day of hunting very quickly. If you discover that your rubber-tipped hunting boot's integrity has been compromised by a hole or tear, fixing it before your next day in the field is a simple process. It can be completed with minimal effort in the same manner you would fix a leaking pair of waders.
Things You'll Need
- Tub or bowl big enough to submerge the boot's rubber portions
- Waterproof sealant
Instructions
-
-
1
Fill the tub with enough water to fully submerge the leaking portions of the boot.
-
2
Submerge the portions of the boot you believe to be leaking, being sure to keep the neck of the boot above water. A boot filled with water will not show leaks properly.
-
-
3
Watch the water for any air bubbles escaping the boot and note their location.
-
4
Remove the boot and dry it before applying the sealant to any leaks you found.
-
5
Dunk the boot once again after the sealant has dried to ensure that all holes are sealed. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 if needed.
