How to Convert DTV to FTA Receiver
DTV, or digital television, is the form of television signals all TV stations produce. FTA is an abbreviation for Free-To-Air television. These are television stations you do not need to purchase and are free to view. You will need some sort of FTA receiver, however, because the signal is broadcast via satellites. There are multiple satellites that produce these signals and, depending on your location in the world, will determine what channels you receive.

1
Purchase an FTA Receiver. Most electronic stores (such as Best Buy) will have this. However, if you are not able to locate the receiver in a store, you will be able to purchase one via the website provided in "Resources" (see below).
-
2
Place the FTA receiver on top of the television or entertainment center. It will need unrestricted room to receive the signal.
-
-
3
Plug in the FTA receiver into the television. This can be done by connecting the coaxial cable from the antenna into the "In" coaxial cable port on the back of the set.
-
4
Power on the FTA receiver by plugging it into a wall outlet. Power on the television. Select the "Menu" button on the television remote and navigate over to the channel options. Perform a "Channel Search," and the television will scan for open channels. Once this is complete, you will be able to change the channels freely from the different Free-To-Air channels.
