How to Make a Still Picture Movie in iMovie

By utilizing the "Ken Burns Effect" you can make a still picture movie that is far more visually pleasing than a boring old Powerpoint presentation. By narrating the movie yourself you can make a beautiful and effective documentary or presentation to use in class.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather all of the pictures that you want to include in one folder. They can be several different picture formats including bitmap, GIF and JPEGs.

    • 2

Import the pictures into iMovie all at once to save time. Have the Ken Burns Effect turned off at this point and set the timing to 5 or 6 seconds.

    • 3

If there are pictures that you want that you cannot take yourself you can simply grab them from google images.

    • 4

Place the Ken Burns Effect on each photo. Try not to zoom in on every picture; zoom out on some and pan across others.

    • 5

Add your narration to the movie and then adjust the timing of the photos.

    • 6

Add transitions and soft music to the film.
