How to Remove Glue Gun Glue

It can be easy to accidentally get hot glue gun glue on your clothing. However, if you know what you're doing, it is very easy to remove the glue too. Using items you likely have in your own home you can quickly and easily remove hot glue from clothing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Method One

  1. Step 1

    Turn the piece of clothing with the glue on it inside out.

  2. Step 2

    Place a paper towel on top of a piece of aluminum foil.

  3. Step 3

    Place the aluminum foil and paper towel inside the clothing with the paper towel against the glue.

  4. Step 4

    Run a hot iron over the spot with the glue.

  5. Step 5

    Remove the paper towel before the glue cools and reattaches to the clothing. The glue should come off with the paper.

  6. Method Two

  7. Step 1

    Take the glue stick out of the glue gun and scrap the excess glue off the metal part of the glue gun.

  8. Step 2

    Heat up the glue gun and hold the metal tip up to the glue.

  9. Step 3

    Using either newspaper or a paper towel, absorb the melted glue off the clothing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember that certain clothes can't be ironed so this method won't work for those.
