How to Make Duct Tape Clothes
For those looking to add some unique flair for a special outfit, creating duct tape clothes may be the way to go. Duct tape is a popular household item, known for its strength and ability to hold things together. People have begun to use their creativity to make duct tape clothes and other items such as wallets. In fact, the makers of duct tape hold a yearly contest for high school students to make prom clothes out of duct tape. You'll still need a pattern, but making clothes is a straightforward task.

1
Create a sheet from the duct tape. Form the sheet by tearing off a length of duct tape and placing it on the table, sticky side up. Tear off another length, and attach it to the first piece by placing it sticky side down---attach half of the length to the first piece of tape, sticky sides together, and stick the other half to the table.. Flip it over, and you should see the exposed sticky side of the second piece. Place a new piece over that---half on the tape and half stuck to the table---and so on until you have one large sheet.

2
Use a pattern to cut the correct shapes from your sheet. Trace the pattern onto the duct tape sheet, and cut it out. Pay attention to the pattern---in some places, you should be cutting a double layer. If you do not have a pattern, you can use old clothes as your pattern.

3
Create seams with duct tape. Place the pieces that you want to attach with right sides facing together. Wrap duct tape around the edge. When you open it up, you'll see the two attached pieces. You can reinforce this by putting another piece of duct tape on the right side of the item, if this fits with the image you have in mind.

4
Try on the clothes, and make adjustments for your size. Wear the clothes inside out. In the places where the clothes are too big, use duct tape to make it fit better. This will be on the inside, and others will not be able to see it.

Embellish the clothes with different colors of duct tape. Duct tape comes in a wide variety of colors, and you can use it to create a unique design.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of putting duct tape on top of duct tape to create your "fabric" sheets, you can put duct tape on either side of a piece of paper. This helps you to avoid the stickiness of the tape.
