How to Earn a High School Diploma Online
A high school diploma is a basic requirement for most jobs. If you have been unable to complete high school the traditional way, consider a distance learning program. An accredited online high school program can help you finish the credits you need to earn your diploma. Don't fall for a site that promises you a diploma in exchange for a fee; a legitimate program will require you to exhibit knowledge sufficient to earn your diploma.

1
Look for an online high school program that is regionally accredited. This is important because many universities will not accept diplomas from online schools that hold only national accreditation.
-
2
Choose the program that is best for you. If you are a teenager, a traditional high school program with a set curriculum might be the best choice. If you're an adult, you might look for a program that also allows you to document your life experience in exchange for certain credits, along with taking the required classes. Some online high schools offer a college track (with more advanced courses) along with their standard curriculum.

3
Enroll in the school of your choice. You may be asked to submit a copy of your transcript showing what credits you have already earned toward your diploma, or to take a placement test to determine your current education level.
-
4
Follow the course of study outlined by the school and obtain the credits necessary to graduate. When you have fulfilled your school's requirements for graduation, you will receive your diploma.
