If you live in a home with very little space then a closet office may be the best option for your personal or home business.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Closet. Hallway, bedroom, office, storage.
  • Desk and supplies.
  1. Step 1

For the small home or apartment dweller a closet is a great way to provide yourself with an office space you can hide from view.
Choose your closet and clear out everything.

  2. Step 2

Choose a light color paint for the inside so your lighting will reflect when turned on. You need to be able to see when working for best concentration.
Once the paint is dry you can build or buy a small computer desk. Just measure length and width on the inside of the closet to make sure your desk will fit once it is assembled. You can remove the door of the closet if you need a little more room to install the desk.

  3. Step 3

Use a stool you can roll into the closet and under the desk to hide from view or if you prefer a much nicer computer desk chair you can always add colorful pillows when not in use. Not only do you have a very comfortable chair during your work time, but it provides another piece of furniture for your living space.

  4. Step 4

Choose about four small cork board' s and hang on the inside back wall of the closet where you can post important information. Check with your local office store or department store and purchase a couple of sets of wall files for storage of important documents and other paperwork.
Use a small craft storage box for paper clips, pencils, etc. and place under the desk.

  5. Step 5

Inside lighting is an option for the homeowner, but temporary lighting will have to work for the renter.
One of the best I have come across and love is the stick up light. It's bright, easy to place and easy to turn on and off. You can remove it when it's time to move to another home.
Desk lamps of all kinds are available so find one to suit your budget and your style from color to size.

  6. Step 6

If you want to have a wilder color for the closet or something to your taste without painting try taping or pinning wrapping paper on the walls. You can choose anything from flowers to wild stripes in every color.
For more style and eye catching color you can hang Christmas decorations from the inside ceiling. Concentrate on one color theme such as light blue, light green or pink.
You home mini office is now complete. Just add your computer and go to work.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose light color.
  • Keep your space organized.
  • Be sure your desk will fit before you buy.
  • Turn off all lights when finished.
