Planning a wedding can be stressful, but planning in eight months can be ever more stressful! Take the time at the beginning to make a game plan.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Organization
  • Internet
  • Phone
  1. Step 1

You're engaged! Congratulations! Now, you and your fiance decide to get married in eight months. Well, let's get planning! The first thing you need to do is sit down and make a game plan. Decide what needs to be done first and by when.

  2. Step 2

Go pick out a dress. Choosing a dress can take awhile and you don't want to rush it. Also, the fitting may reveal that some work needs to be done. Most dress shops will want at least 6 months to get everything done. The same thing goes for the bridesmaids dresses.

  3. Step 3

Try to find a venue for the ceremony and reception. If there is a place you have always dreamed of for your wedding, you better book it fast. Some places get booked years in advance.

  4. Step 4

Start making a guest list. Although this may not seem that important, many things revolve around this list. You can get a better idea of how much food you may need, how many favors you will need, and how big of a venue you will need.

  5. Step 5

Choose your wedding party and send out save the dates. With only eight months notice, you need to allow people time to get vacation time if they need it to travel to your wedding.

  6. Step 6

All other details such as decorations, table settings, etc. can be decided on whenever during the eight months. That is not something that needs to be done immediately. But most of all, stay calm and plan the wedding of your dreams!

Tips & Warnings
  • Look around for deals. For example, getting married on a Friday night usually costs more than on a Saturday.
