Make Gift Baskets Easily and Cheaply for Friends and Family Gifts

You need to go to your local Dollar Store and partake of their wonders!!!! You need to use your imagination and create these wonderful baskets full of goodies to treat your friends and family on birthdays, Christmas, and any time you need a gift!!!! They have wonderful pieces you can use for basket themes. If you get these baskets ready made they will be from $30.00 to 60 or 70.00. And you can do it at the Dollar Store for about $12-15.00 each.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic baskets w/handles
  • Whicker baskets w/handle
  • tissue paper, bags of shredded gold and silver and colored paper.
  • Items that match the theme of the basket you've decided to make.
  • A pack of clear plastic wrapping paper.
  • Ribbon all colors
  1. Step 1

You need to pick your basket first. I like the small plastic baskets with handles. Then Pick a Theme for the basket gift. Okay, you are getting your sister a basket for her birthday. Do a bath theme. Pink basket, pink or silver shredded paper, a wonderful Bottle of Bath Wash in Pink, a bath glove, Pink or clear hand wash, Pink Hairspray, Pink mirror, choose a pink candle for the bathroom. Get the largest items you can find of these items in the Dollar Store. Arrange in the basket on the shredded paper. Wrap the entire basket in a large clear piece of plastic wrapping paper, tie the top with a beautiful Bow made from Dollar Store Ribbon. And it is beautiful!!!!!

  2. Step 2

Choose a bucket, plastic for children's basket, or metal for adult gift.
Get these at the Dollar Store... put in tissue or shredded paper. For adults choose gardening items, like garden gloves, seed packets, small digging tools all at the dollar store. Get several items, again get the largest of each you can. Wrap in the clear plastic wrapping paper, put a pretty bow on top with alot of ribbon.... next make one in the plastic bucket for a child. Put the shredded paper, plastic beach toys, like shovel, and other toys, and some candy. Do the same wrapping, the entire bucket with clear cellophane paper, and tie the top with beautiful ribbon that matches the bucket...all from the Dollar Store.

  3. Step 3

Don't put more expensive items. You can get many items $1.00 each and fill the container up. Give the person many versatile items. Why go somewhere else that the same items would be $5.00 each? Your total per item is $1.00 for container, $1.00 for a pack of shredded paper, $1.00 for each item you put in the container. Fill it full! Even add Chocolate. It will be very beautiful also, with the cellophane paper and the ribbon at the top.

  4. Step 4

Remember, use different containers for different themes, or just use a basket....I love using buckets......great for men's gifts. A great man's basket would be the bucket, filled with shredded paper, men's aftershave, razors, men's manicure set, man's bath sponge, men's bath wash. Whatever else you want. Wrap in the cellophane sheet, wrap it in masculine ribbon, or raffia......great gift!

Tips & Warnings
  • Stay with $1.00 items, it will still be beautiful when you create the entire basket.
  • Get the largest items of each thing you can find in the Dollar Store.
