A few simple steps and you can always have a perfect cup of tea! This works for all sorts of teas: black, green, or even herb tea.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pan or teakettle to boil water
  • filtered water
  • tea bags or loose tea w/ tea ball
  • ceramic teapot for brewing
  1. Step 1

Always use fresh filtered water. Do not reboil water since it has a lower oxygen content. Place the tea bags - 1 for every two cups - or loose tea (in tea ball) in ceramic teapot

  2. Step 2

Boil the water on the stove. Turn the water off and wait a minute before pouring over tea. If you pour the water over the tea without waiting, it will make the tea bitter.

  3. Step 3

Pour the boiled water over the tea bag or tea ball with loose tea. Brew until desired strength. If making iced tea, make 3 times stronger.

  4. Step 4

Serve hot tea with lemon, milk, honey or as desired. For iced tea, cool the strong tea in the refrigerator (or rapid cool in the freezer. When ready to serve, pour strong tea over ice and serve as desired

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use fresh filtered water for the best taste
  • Keep the teakettle or pan for boiling water clean otherwise minerals build up
  • Do not pour boiling water over tea since it will cause bitterness
  • remember to not give honey to children under age of 2
