You can customize items by spray painting stencils on them. For example, you can paint stencils for walls, for the nursery, or even your car. You can either make your own stencils or purchase them. Below are the steps to how to spray paint a rose stencil on a blind.

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper or poster board
  • Marker
  • Exacto Knife
  • Quick Dry Spray Paint
  • Drop Cloth
  1. Step 1

    Draw a picture of a rose on newspaper or a poster board.

  2. Step 2

    Use an exacto knife to cut out the picture.

  3. Step 3

    Put a drop cloth on a flat surface. For example, you can use the floor or table.

  4. Step 4

    Take down the blinds which you want to put the stencil.

  5. Step 5

    Lay the blinds on the drop cloth.

  6. Step 6

    Use masking tape if you are using newspaper. Put small pieces of masking tape on the back side of the newspaper, so it can stick to the stencil and blind to prevent from shifting or moving.

  7. Step 7

    Get the Quick Dry Stray Paint. Hold the spray can at least 12 inches away, and spray the stencil in a sweeping motion.

  8. Step 8

    Let dry for approximately 10 minutes.

  9. Step 9

    Remove the stencil.

  10. Step 10

    Hang your blinds. That’s it! You can use these steps also to create other stencils, such as wall mural stencils. Paint stencils and coordinate your stencil designs with the decor of your house. There is no limit to the stencil art you can create.
