Do you look at your pictures and wonder why they do not appear to be sharp? Here are tips to help you take sharper hand held pictures.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shutter speed. Use a shutter speed that is equal to the length of the lens. Example: 50mm lens, use a shutter speed of 1/50.

  2. Step 2

Apeture. Use the lens' sharpest apeture. Usually this is two stops above the lowest stop or around f8.

  3. Step 3

Iso speed. Check your iso speed and put it on the lowest number. This will help keep noise(grain) out of your pictures.

  4. Step 4

Lenses. If you have a DSLR, then certain lenses provide sharper pictures than others. SLR lenses can be expensive. Prices range from $50 to $10,000. I would recommend researching lens reviews and deciding which lenses are best for your price range.

  5. Step 5

Post-production. Add some sharpness using photo software on your computer. There are many products on the market today that are very user friendly. Most allow you to download the program for a trial before you decide to buy.
