Massage away Dry or Prematurely Aging Facial Skin

De-Stress and give yourself a Facial Massage

You know you really deserve this, so break out some nice smelling facial massage oil and lets get to it. We’d recommend a 20% blend of essential oils in a vegetable oil base. For dry or prematurely aging skin, try Rosewood this will help revive skin tissue and aid oxygenation. Also, Sandalwood and lavender oils are good for soothing and increasing moisture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A rubber band or towel
  • Facial massage oil of your choice
  • Some gentle fingers
  1. Step 1

As a starting point you'll want to secure your hair off your face, try using an elastic band or towel.

Add a little of the oil to your fingertips, and using the pads of your first and middle fingers start massaging the lotion in and between your brows. Move out towards the temples in the long smooth movements and pause momentarily toward the top of the middle of your brows. Press firmly and start again at the outside edge of the brow. Again pressing firmly, repeat the same movements progressing up and over the entire forehead.

You can add as little or as much oil as you want, in any case any excess will sink into your complexion within a few minutes.

  2. Step 2

You can target your sinus pressure points by gently massaging from the top, down toward the base of your nose. Placing the fingers under your cheekbones and moving out towards the ear, choose three stopping points along the cheekbone, pressing firmly between the points where you began and just below the temples.

  3. Step 3

With the fingers of one hand hold the skin around your eyes until it is taught. Then use the ring finger of the other hand to massage gently around the bone surrounding the eye, working around this area you should make three circles in each direction.

Again keeping the mouth slightly taught, use a circular motion to massage the area around your lips. You should use the first two fingers of your hands, and then reverse the process swapping hands and replicating the movements.

  4. Step 4

Under your nostrils there are a couple of pressure points, you should gently press these using your first two fingers.

Working along the entire neck, massage upwards moving behind the ears. There’s a pressure point located just behind and below the ear, you should gently focus attention with your fingers there. Moving on, work around, gliding the hands along the neck, pushing gently into the bottom of your skull.

  5. Step 5

Finally, cross over your hands and using deep strokes gently massage the area surrounding your shoulders.

  6. Step 6

And there you have it! A lesson in self revitalisation, and hopefully an improvement in your dry or prematurely aging skin.
