There's nothing quite like a super-white pair of sneakers straight from the box. Nothing beats that store-fresh look, but it never lasts very long. There are a few steps you can take again and again to keep your favorite kicks looking like new.
Things You'll Need
- Melamine foam cleaning sponges
Lay your white shoes or sneakers on an old towel. The drips from cleaning your shoes will be dirty or chalky, but come off when the towel is washed.
Get one of the melamine cleaning sponges just damp with water. Melamine foam cleaning sponges are best known by the brand name Magic Eraser, but the generic brand works just as well. You can soak it and wring it out and it to be ready for scrubbing your sneakers.
Scrub your sneakers, focusing on any marks or stains they may have. You will need to apply a fair amount of pressure depending on how bad the stains are on your sneakers.
Dry your sneakers and repeat if you still have any stains showing. The sneakers look like new again and you can save the sponge for the next time you get a stain, just re-wet and clean shoes again.
Tips & Warnings
- Melamine foam sponges are abrasive -- don't rub too hard on any one spot.
